The Online Applications Service (alias POLIS - Online Submission of Applications) allows for the digital submission of requests related to major administrative procedures.

It is based on the Digital Administration Code (CAD), which enshrines citizens' right to interact with the Public Administration using the tools offered by ICT technologies instead of traditional methods based on paper forms. In particular, this legislation mentions among the secure access alternatives to online services of public administrations, the one that involves using normal access credentials such as user code and password, provided that they allow for verifying the identity of the individual requesting the services.

Prior to accessing the service, a mandatory identification phase in front of a public official of the person who is being granted access is therefore necessary.

In the case of access through a SPID digital identity, the identification phase is not required.
